SaaS solution for the live and on-demand streaming of video and audio content on the Internet (external) and intranet (internal) of the Bundesank; including data management, hosting and accompanying services

The Deutsche Bundesbank has been using video as an important means of communication for many years. The formats used range from events broadcast live worldwide to small animated explanatory pieces and training videos for internal purposes only. Increasingly, audio content, e.g. Podcasts, produced and made available for on-demand.

So far, two platforms are used for the delivery of the video content. An "internal solution" for purely internal on-demand provision, including a media library on the Bundesbank's intranet, and an "external solution" for live and on-demand streaming for the Bundesbank's external websites (mainly www.bundesbank.de).

The aim of the new tender for the services for the provision of live produced and already produced video and audio content is to create a common SaaS solution for all content. It should be possible to choose between internal ("for internal use only" - NiG) and external ("public") playout on the platform. In addition, the new solution is intended to enable extensive categorization and offer a flexible rights and role concept so that a larger number of authorized persons can independently upload and publish content according to their responsibility.
