Description:

Solihull Community Housing (SCH) is an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) that was established in April 2004 to takeover the management of housing services on behalf of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC). SCH’s responsibilities include the management and maintenance of the Councils’ housing stock. This portfolio includes houses, maisonettes, high-rise and low-rise flats, sheltered accommodation and community centres.

SCH has commenced the process of procuring a contract for the provision of servicing and maintenance of fire protection systems and equipment located at various properties within SCH’s property portfolio, this including various office locations.

The proposed contract will cover the provision of preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs to fire protection systems and equipment, this will include:

1. Fire Alarms.

2. Emergency Lighting.

3. Bin Room Fire Suppression.

4. Fireman’s Switches.

5. Fire Extinguishers and Blankets.

6. Dry Risers.

SCH anticipates that the Contract will commence 4.4.2016.

The proposed term of the Contract will be for an initial period of 3 years with an option to extend (subject to performance) by up to a further four 12 month periods.

SCH estimates the annual contract value to be in the region of between GBP 200 000 and GBP 250 000.

The successful contractor is to be selected through a formal restricted tender process.

In order to be considered for inclusion on SCH’s select list of contractors who are to be invited to tender, contractors must express an interest and complete a set of Pre-Qualification Questionnaire document(s).

The closing date for the submission of completed Pre-Qualification Questionnaires is no later than 12 noon on Wednesday 14 January 2015.

Briefing Session — A briefing session lasting approximately one hour is to be on Friday 5.12.2014, where the SCH Procurement Officer and Contract Administrator will explain the details of the contract and outline the procurement procedure. Please see the PQQ letter for details of how to register your interest in attending this session.

TUPE — Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 (TUPE) may apply in respect of the contract. Further information will be available at the Invitation to Tender Stage.

Social Value — The contract is to be procured and delivered in accordance with the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 and the appointed contractor will be expected to collaborate with SCH to deliver improvements to the borough of Solihull through the delivery of the contract.
