On behalf of the hospital trusts in Northern Norway Regional Health, the University Hospital of North Norway (UNN) announces an open competition for the provision of a culture-based, blood-culture system with associated enrichment flasks and other consumables.

The blood culture system will be used for the detection of bacteria and fungi in the blood, blood products and body fluids. The Northern Norway Regional Health Authority (RHA) wants a system of rapid detection of positive samples that gives quick results for referrers as well as a lesser need for shipments of samples from local hospitals to the microbiology laboratories at UNN Tromsø and Nordland Hospital Trust (NLSH) Bodø.

The blood culture system should generally permit connection of instruments extant in the region's laboratory information systems LIS (CGM AnalytiX and DIPS Lab) through an automated bidirectional communication.
