In order to ensure the earliest possible realisation of the next construction stage, a decision has been made to coordinate the work with the development plan and the detailed engineering design services as well as procuring consultants at the same time. This procurement is for the next construction stage of the Light Rail and will apply for the planning and engineering design services for the stretch from the centre to Åsane or from the centre to Fyllingsdalen. This will be clarified in the pre-qualification period, and the tender documentation will be sent out for one stretch.

This enquiry shall end up with two contracts - one for the development plan work and one for the engineering design services for the actual stretch.

The contracting authority emphasises that the development plan work is a formal process in accordance with the Planning and Building Act, in which many parties have the right to influence the solution. This formal process cannot be waived and the adoption of the development plan is a political decision. The engineering design services shall follow the development plan.
