The subject of the proceedings is the engineering services of the planning of the external and internal development (dirty and rainwater, drinking water, electricity, telecommunications, lighting, heat supply, extinguishing water supply) in accordance with § 41 HOAI for the new construction of the fire station Südwest Braunschweig.

With the construction of a new fire station with a workshop and logistics centre on approx. 10,000 sqm of usable space, the city of Braunschweig is planning to improve the accessibility of the districts in the southwest as part of hazard prevention.

The award procedure runs parallel to the land use and development plan procedure, which have not yet been completed and are expected to become legally binding in the second half of 2023. The award procedure depends on the outcome of these urban land-use planning procedures. The City of Braunschweig reserves the right to annul the proceedings in the event that, contrary to expectations, legal force is not achieved. Concluding a contract for the project before it becomes legally binding would include an option of cancellation (right of withdrawal) in the event of a lack of legal force.

The subject of the procedure is the engineering services of the planning of the external and internal development (dirty and rainwater, drinking water, electricity, telecommunications, lighting, heat supply, extinguishing water supply) in accordance with § 41 HOAI for the new construction of the fire station Südwest Braunschweig.

The city of Braunschweig is planning to build a new fire station in the south-west of the city area to improve accessibility and thus the safety level of the surrounding districts. Ten operational functions from the South Fire Station (Dessaustraße) with command vehicle, turntable ladder and emergency fire engine and six operational functions with various special vehicles from the main fire station are to be relocated there. The station is to be designed as a technical and logistics station. In addition to the above-mentioned operation, the technical department of the professional fire brigade with the car workshop, the alarm device workshop, the clothing store, the locksmith's shop, the carpenter's shop, the respiratory protection workshop and the hose workshop will be relocated to the new station. In total, around 50 employees of the operational operation, as well as around 25 employees of the technical department will be accommodated at the South-West fire station.

The space programme of the Westerbergstraße fire station comprises a usable area (NUF) of approx. 9,180 m² and is divided into eight functional areas (A1-7; A9), which in turn are divided into heated and unheated parts of the building. The functional area A8 Building Services is not part of the NUF and is therefore shown separately. In the further course of planning, technical requirements can lead to an adaptation of the currently scheduled technical area.

Total costs of approx. EUR 53 million were determined for the construction project on the basis of BKI parameters and GFA (KG 300: EUR 16.8 million; KG 400: 5.5 million as of 09/2021). A development plan is currently being drawn up for the planned building site on Westerbergstraße, which is expected to become legally binding in the second half of 2023.

It is provided with planning ahead. in the 3rd quarter of 2023 and to realize the construction project by 2028.
