The Migration Service is the qualified advisory service in migration-specific matters for immigrants and for non-migration-specific services, facilities and institutions in the district in accordance with § 12 LAufnG and § 14 para. 3 sentence 2 LAufnG in conjunction with § 6 para. 1 sentence 2 ErstVO in conjunction with Section 3 DVLaufnG. Migration-specific counselling is intended to enable them to make optimal use of social services and thus contribute to increasing self-help competence and activating asylum seekers and refugees. The aim is to advise and support immigrants in their migration and integration-specific concerns, to strengthen their self-help potential and, if necessary, to give them access to other social services and facilities. Another counselling service is aimed at people with temporary and unresolved residence prospects. Particular attention must be paid to social counselling and the care of mentally ill and traumatised refugees. In this way, the Migration Service makes a significant contribution to opening up opportunities for linguistic, social and professional integration.
