Bocholter Energie- und Wasserversorgung GmbH (BEW) was commissioned by the city of Bocholt with the planning and expansion of a nationwide, passive broadband network as described in the following chapter. The aim of the state-funded project is to establish a future-proof and modern "Fiber to the Building" (FttB) network in the area of the so-called "white spots". These include all connections that do not have a min. 30 Mbit / s are available in the downstream.
The overall construction of all clusters is scheduled to begin in April 2019 and to be completed by the end of 2021.
