The power structures under the responsibility of the Weser-Jade-Nordsee Waterways and Shipping Authority (Bremen and Bremerhaven locations) are monitored and maintained by the responsible outlying districts of Habenhausen, Farge, Blexen and Oldenburg in accordance with VV-WSV 1116 and VV-WSV 2101.
The power structures are heavily stressed and damaged by weather-related influences such as storm surges, ice, suction and waves. The constant maintenance of the power structures (e.g. groynes, dams and revetments) is the responsibility of the management operation of the individual outer districts. Large quantities of water blocks (of different size and weight classes, depending on the intended use) are required for maintenance. In order to be able to guarantee a regulated basic coverage/supply, a framework agreement on the supply of water blocks is required. The framework agreement enables timely and flexible delivery of the water building blocks on site, as required.
