Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust (YAS) seeks to establish a framework agreement consisting of a range of patient focused suitably qualified transport providers to convey eligible patients with a medical need for transport and of varying levels of mobility. This procurement exercise is divided into lots, these being based upon levels of patient mobility.
Lot 1: A vehicle with capacity to transport a minimum of three patients able to get in and out of a standard car with minimal assistance on any journey. This includes children travelling with an escort.
Lot 2: A vehicle with capacity to transport patients able to get in and out of a standard car with minimal assistance, children travelling with an escort and patients travelling in their own wheelchair.
Lot 3: A vehicle with capacity to transport patients able to get in and out of a standard car with minimal assistance, children travelling with an escort, patients travelling in their own wheelchair and patients who require moving and handling equipment and assistance.
Lot 4: A vehicle with capacity to transport patients able to get in and out of a standard car with minimal assistance, children travelling with an escort, patients travelling in their own wheelchair and patients who require moving and handling equipment and assistance. All may require assistance from an additional crew member.
Lot 5: A provider registered with the care quality commission and a vehicle with capacity to transport patients able to get in and out of a standard car with minimal assistance, children travelling with an escort, patients travelling in their own wheel chair, patients travelling on a stretcher. All may require the assistance from an additional crew member and moving and handling assistance.
Lot 6: A provider registered with the care quality commission and a vehicle with capacity to transport patients with complex mobility needs. This will require moving and handling equipment and assistance and more than two crew members.
