The new building of the Calw hospital is an integral part of the Calw health campus with an area of approx. 65,000 m
The district council appointed the bidding consortium engineering office Prof. Dr.-Ing. Vogt Planungsgemeinschaft mbH, Leipzig, and HDR GmbH, Stuttgart commissioned with the draft planning and cost calculation for the new building of the Calw hospital.
The new KKH Calw building will have 150 beds and comprises five floors with a gross floor area of approx. 21,000 m
Ground floor: main entrance, cafeteria, central emergency room, radiological group practice, ambulances, social services.
1st floor: 3 operating theaters, intensive care unit with 8 beds, gynecology, obstetrics and pain therapy with a total of 30 beds.
2nd floor: Nursing floor with 32 beds for orthopedics and general surgery, 20 interdisciplinary optional beds. 3rd floor: Nursing floor with 64 beds for internal medicine.
A solitary car park with around 360 parking spaces is planned on the north side of the campus.
The four-storey building stands along the outer access road (Mildred-Scheel-Straße) and also has the function of shielding the campus area from the commercial area.
In the outdoor area, an additional 65 parking spaces are currently planned. These parking spaces include eight disabled parking spaces. A total of 425 parking spaces are planned, the number was calculated on the basis of a parking space report.
The project includes the complete internal development of the health campus including the creation of the outdoor facilities on the entire campus site.
The total value of the construction project is estimated at:
- District hospital: approx. EUR 66 million gross,
- Parking structure: approx. EUR 8 million gross,
- Outdoor facilities: approx. EUR 9 million gross,
- Total amount: approx. 83 million EUR gross = 71.5 million EUR net.
The start of construction is planned for mid-2021 and commissioning for the beginning of 2024.

The commissioning of the project stages takes place in stages. The client is free in his decision about a further assignment; there is no entitlement to the transfer of further services.
