This contract is for 5 years, with an option to extend for 2 years, making 7 years in total.
The provider shall be expected to work with commissioners to develop a range of self-help and preventative approaches such as on-line self assessment, fast track assessment and retail opportunities. Early intervention and prevention requires commissioners to ensure a growing and accessible market for community equipment is created which empowers people to self-help and focus on maintaining independence in the community. It is expected that the provider will clearly understand the need for services to be flexible and to change over time as commissioning organisations need to respond to demographic and budgetary challenges.
