The Western Norway Regional Health Authority (Helse Vest) shall procure a solution for two-factor authentication of our 27 000 employees providing them with a means to access certain published services in our network. Helse Vest has a client network based on Microsoft, and use Windows AD to manage our user accounts. Integration towards AD is imperative for the 2FA-solution. Multiple technologies are in production server-side. The authentication scheme must be applicable to any external client, and we demand that the 2FA-solution are independent of hardware, software or operation systems on the clients.

The means of authentication must physically satisfy the “something-you-have”-part of a 2FA-solution, and we also require alternative means of authentication i.e. for mobile platforms.
