Engineering services to accompany and optimize the soil air and groundwater remediation including MNA monitoring in the period 01 / 2021-12 / 2023 with the option to extend by one year 01 / 24-12 / 24.
Between 1963 and 1986, various owners traded hides and furs of all kinds on the site of the former Pelzveredelung Fuldatal GmbH in Grebenstrasse in Fuldatal. Tetrachlorethylene (PER) was the predominant solvent used to clean animal skins. When tetrachloroethene was redistilled, residues were fed into the company's own sewage treatment plant via the sewer system. The resulting sewage sludge was applied to drying beds next to the sewage treatment plant. “Per” got into the ground through improper handling of solvents during cleaning work in the company and through leaks in the sewer system.
Soil and groundwater examinations showed very high loads with trucks. Heavy metal contamination was also found in the drying beds.
Since the start of the renovation, around 8 t of truck trucks have been removed from the unsaturated soil zone through soil air cleaning. In total, around 33.8 kg of LHKW have been recovered from the groundwater since the start of the renovation through the groundwater remediation carried out since the end of 2002.
To monitor the fissured aquifer, 8-hour pumping tests are carried out annually, every 2-3 years since 2018, at up to seven groundwater measuring points with depths between 20 m and 82 m. The review of the cleft aquifer carried out in 2019 showed LHKW concentrations of up to 381 μg / l LHKW.
HIM GmbH, area remediation of contaminated sites (HIM-ASG), intends to re-award the necessary engineering and expert services (freelance services) for further project processing in the Fuldatal, fur finishing project. The services can be roughly summarized as follows:
