Applications for the provision of scientific instruments and equipment are submitted by foreign scientists from foreign universities. After a positive decision on the applications by DAAD selection committees, the DAAD will hand over the applications to the Contractor for procurement. Procurement includes communication with recipients abroad in German and/or English to coordinate device and country specifics (in particular collective orders), if necessary, obtaining comparative offers or updating existing offers, ordering the equipment on the basis of the available offers, possibly picking up equipment from the manufacturer/supplier and interim storage until the final delivery date. In preparation, the delivery includes regular contact with the recipient (possibly with the German mission abroad) in order to clarify the import modalities into the respective destination country as well as the delivery of the equipment to the agreed duty-free port.
