Repair of the lower gates of the Gelsenkirchen and Oberhausen ship locks
Gelsenkirchen lock system
At the Gelsenkirchen lock system, the components of the neck bearings, track bearings, knagens, cam plate and seals are replaced due to the condition and service life. In addition, the twin worm gears of the roller shutters in the gate are being overhauled for service life. The inspection report from 2012 shows that knaggen in particular are subject to high wear and tear.
Oberhausen lock system
Various significant defects in the lock group have been identified by the last plant inspections. As part of the plant inspection in 2007 and the unscheduled “Plant Inspection 2011 Track Storage of the Southern Lock Oberhausen”, extensive immediate measures had to be taken to maintain operations in both chambers. The immediate measures included crack welding in the area of contactor openings or welding the wedges on the track bearing. The detected defects in the wear parts of the track bearings, neck bearings, cam plates, knobs, wall plates, goal scorer gears and seals could not be eliminated during the course of the measure and are therefore still pending.
