At the time of publication of the award procedure, the total number of registered trademarks amounts to approximately 1,700 pieces. Under the auspices of SWR, the aim of this EU tender is to conclude a contract with a contractor who, in this context, provides legal services in the field of intellectual property rights (focus: trademark, title, domain law) for the state broadcasters affiliated in the ARD, Deutsche Welle, Zweites Deutsche Fernsehen, Deutschlandradio and ARTE, including their joint facilities/programmes.

These include, for example, trademarks of the individual broadcasters such as the umbrella brands of the individual broadcasters or broadcast brands; trademarks registered in several or all ARD state broadcasters jointly or jointly with ZDF; brands that are managed by individual broadcasters; Trademarks of community institutions/programs or, in some cases, trademarks registered on the basis of a cooperation or other agreement.
Under the auspices of SWR, the aim of this EU tender is to conclude a contract with a contractor who, in this context, will provide legal services in the field of intellectual property law (focus: trademark, title, domain law) for the state broadcasters (Bayerischer Rundfunk; Hessischer Rundfunk; Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk; Norddeutscher Rundfunk; Radio Bremen; Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg; Saarländischer Rundfunk; Südwestrundfunk; Westdeutscher Rundfunk), Deutsche Welle, Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen, Deutschlandradio and ARTE (hereinafter referred to as the contracting authority), including their joint facilities/programmes.
The legal services advertised are divided on the one hand into activities of event-related legal advice and on the other hand into regular processing or administrative activities. The services or activities to be provided by the contractor in detail can be found in the service description in the procedural documents.
From exemplary empirical values on the volume of activity in the years 2020 - 2022, the client derives the following quantity structure for the provision of services or the purchase quantities per year (in person-days):
- 200 person-days (guaranteed minimum purchase quantity)
- 275 person-days (planned purchase quantity)
- 300 person-days (optional maximum purchase quantity)
