HafenCity Hamburg GmbH (HCH) acts as the realisation agency of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg (FHH) in the field of urban development. Within the framework of the planning and construction of all measures of the public sector as well as the development coordination of the properties, it is necessary to control complex processes with different participants from different disciplines and companies. HCH is currently working on four urban development areas in heterogeneous project teams. Everyone participates in the development areas. The core task of HCH is
in the coordination of externally commissioned service providers (planners, experts, etc.), public bodies (authorities, associations, etc.) as well as in the information and participation of the public and the acquisition of private clients. For the purpose of fulfilling its tasks, HCH manages the "City and Port" special fund of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and thus ensures, among other things, the financing of the urban redevelopment of HafenCity as well as the other areas and land belonging to the special fund. In addition, it manages the special fund
existing land and real estate.
