As part of the Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2) project, a new connection will increase the capability of the electricity transmission network between England and Scotland. Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission PLC and National Grid Electricity Transmission PLC are partnering on the project. Prior to the EPC offshore installation works commencing, a UXO ALARP certificate needs to be produced which is specific to the installation corridor and demonstrates industry best practice for UXO management and mitigation. The general requirement is for a marine UXO survey along an approximately 440km route from Peterhead in Scotland to near Bridlington, England over an 80m wide corridor.
To register your interest in this procurement event and to obtain the pre-qualification documentation applicants are to email Rebecca.Pearson@nationalgrid.com using the wording 'Registering Interest for 'EGL2 UXO Marine Survey' and include in the body of the message (if you have them) your Ariba AN number (network ID), name, email address and contact phone number for all contacts within your organisation who will need to receive Ariba messages and administer your online submissions. Following receipt of this information National Grid will invite you to the Ariba event where all of the pre-qualification documentation is contained including further instructions.
The general requirement is for a marine UXO survey along an approximately 440km route from Peterhead in Scotland to near Bridlington, England over an 80m wide corridor. Data required shall include: MBES, SSS, Magnetometer / gradiometer.
Nearshore works shall include water depths of less than 10m LAT, Offshore areas involve water depths up to 100m LAT.
A full detailed UXO survey of the route is required, starting approximately in April 2023, concluding by September 2023
