The objective of this procurement is to enter into an agreement with contractor for execution of contract D001 Sheet pile works. The site is to be released from 1.12.2013 in accordance with agreement with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration and in accordance with main phase plans for the development of Bjørvika.

In order to get started as soon as possible after the site is released 1.12.2013, the Awarding Authority has decided to initiate a separate sheet pile contract. This gives more time for detailed engineering design and contracting of the Foundation and carcass contract.

D001 Sheet pile works is a condition for subsequent contracts and the realisation of New Deichmanske main library. The contract includes sheet pile works in the border area of the building and the sheet piles shall be lead down to approx. contour -17.

The site shall also be excavated to contour 0. The contract is in accordance with the City Council Decision dated 06.03.2013. The site is centrally situated in Bjørvika, north east of the Opera and south east of Hotel Opera, directly facing the large city space named Operaallmenningen.

The construction site is restricted to the streets Dronning Eufemiasgate and Operagata. These streets are located on approx. contour 2-2, 5. The excavation datum line for the basement varies from contour -4, 35 to -5, 35. The objective of the sheet pile works is to create a sealed building pit without penetration of seawater and is simultaneously a necessity to maintain the traffic in the surrounding streets.
