Transformation from SAP ECC to S/4HANA - Detailed conception on behalf of neu-itec GmbH

The concept of the conversion of neu.sw's SAP ECC 6.0 to SAP S/4HANA using a greenfield approach (reconstruction) will be put out to tender.

neu.sw has decided to tender and award the concept and implementation in two steps. The current subject of the call is limited to the concept phase and the results to be developed in this context.

By our concept phase for S/4HANA we mean the elaboration of the process characteristics in the future S/4HANA. We are guided by the SAP Activate method. The tendered concept includes the Prepare and Explore phases: Based on SAP's best practice processes, the delta to the current business processes is to be documented and solutions for the deltas are to be developed. The aim of the concept phase is to create the detailed concept including specifications for the conversion of our SAP ECC6.0 to S/4HANA using a greenfield approach. The provider can suggest deviations from the SAP Activate method if it has experience with this and should be able to justify its use sufficiently.

The development is carried out with the key users of our departments with the help of an S/4HANA sample system provided by the provider. This can be realized via an SAP Model Company or by a prototype system in which the best-practice processes relevant for neu.sw have been activated. The sample system covers the business processes of neu.sw, with the exception of the personnel processes from the HCM module.

The detailed concept to be created and the specifications are the basis of the implementation phase S/4HANA. All content results are provided in such a way that seamless technical and content-related reuse is ensured internally and externally in the subsequent implementation phase. Since the implementation phase is advertised separately, a third party is also able to manage the implementation on the basis of the detailed concept and the specifications, i.e. customizing and development for the new S/4HANA of neu.sw.

The implementation costs can be mapped on the basis of the decisions and results. The further implementation strategy is described in the concept phase.

In S/4HANA, the core processes are mapped to a large extent via SAP BestPractice. Deviations are duly justified on a cost/benefit basis.

There is a strategy for data migration, data governance, data archiving and data deletion.

There is a solution sketch for archiving legacy data in SAP ECC6.0, which has not yet been considered at neu.sw. In order to adhere to the schedule of our roadmap, the concept phase will start on 15.04.2023 according to current ideas and must be completed by 30.11.2023 at the latest. A postponement of the performance period due to a later, award-related order cannot be excluded.
