In 2016, Commissioners and Providers formed the West Midlands Integrated Urgent Care Alliance Agreement to progress the integration of urgent care within the geographical boundary of the 16 Clinical Commissioning Groups forming part of the collaborative.
Sandwell and West Birmingham CCG act as the Lead Commissioner for Integrated Urgent Care on behalf of the 16 West Midlands CCGs, with Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin CCGs acting as Associate Commissioners on the contract. Care UK are contracted to provide the NHS 111 element of the Integrated Urgent Care service in the West Midlands.
We seek through our regional Alliance Agreement to drive more efficient and effective use of NHS resources. The Provider of the local GP Out of Hours services for Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin will need to agree to sign up to this Alliance Agreement as a requirement of this contract.
