Procurement of VS-NfD certified encryption devices for the Integrated Control Center HD/RNK

The City of Heidelberg and the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis jointly tender for the delivery and commissioning of several "ver-schlusssache - nur für den Dienstgebrauch" (VS-NfD) certified by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) to secure the data connection between the control center locations of the Integrated Control Center HD/RNK.

The data traffic between the two locations is routed via two existing dark fiber connections on separate routes. The routes have a length of about 15 km and 45 km. Each of the two paths has two fiber optic pairs, each of which is to be used to realize a 10 Gbit/s connection. The offered hardware must therefore be able to encrypt a total of 40 Gbit/s (Layer 2).

With regard to the technical implementation, both one encryption device per route and endpoint (in total four devices) or one device for both paths and endpoint (in total two devices) can be provided.

In particular, the following must be provided:

Delivery of encryption devices including all licenses

Complete installation and commissioning

Anwenderschulung

Service and hardware warranty for 5 years
