The existing line 1 electrostatic precipitator has clearly exceeded the expected service life of 25 - 30 years. Also, its dust separation no longer corresponds to the current state of the art. The increased dust content results in a problem of contamination in the downstream units, in particular the flue gas heat exchangers.

The line 1 electrostatic precipitator is therefore to be replaced as part of the overall project "Performance enhancement and optimisation of the Trimmis waste incineration plant".
