The contract is for: the maintenance of the Intra Site Digital Link and its equipment used to connect UK ACAS main radio operating sites with associated transmitter and receiver sites, repair/disposal/replacement of damaged parts, provision of train the trainer services and emergency on-site assistance tasks.

The ISDL architecture was originally conceived and implemented in the 1980's as part of Air Staff Requirement (ASR) 888 which provided for an Improved United Kingdom Air Defence Ground Environment (IUKADGE) Integrated Command and Control System (ICCS).It underwent significant upgrade and technical refresh activities in the 1990's and early 2000's in order to work with the replacement for ICCS, the United Kingdom (UK) Air Surveillance and Control System (ASACS) Command and Control System (UCCS) and its associated communications infrastructure. The ISDL equipment is used to connect UK ASACS main radio operating sites with their associated transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx) sites. The requirement is for a contract for the provision of support services for ISDL until 31.3.2022. The services include annual visit to site to maintain the equipment, management of equipment and spare parts list, delivery of train the trainer sessions and ad-hoc tasks for emergency site visits. please note that the tender documentation is available on request via email to: DESADEWS-Comrcl2a@mod.uk
