This contract, which will take the legal form of a multi-awardee framework agreement, covers the supply of electric multiple units of several lengths up to a maximum of 140m operated mainly on the lines of the French National Rail Network, as well as all associated services, in particular logistical support and rolling stock guarantees.
The subsequent contracts of the Framework Agreement will be awarded after a systematic re-competition of the Framework Agreement Holders.
The contract concerns the supply of up to 150 self-propelled vehicles and the associated services. These self-propelled cars will be operated mainly on the lines of the French National Rail Network. Some self-propelled vehicles will be able to be ordered in a configuration suitable for operating on the network of countries bordering metropolitan France, and in particular in Switzerland.
The self-propelled vehicles will have a basic dual-voltage configuration (1500V direct and 25kV AC) capable of driving at the speed limit of 160 km/h, which can be divided into three lengths (a version of up to 110m with a minimum capacity of 400 seats, a long version of up to 140m and a short version of up to 83m, both with a seating ratio identical to that of the 110m version).
The basic configuration will be supplemented, for subsequent contracts, by the exercise of one or more options from the catalogue of options that will be described in the consultation documents. These options include, but are not limited to:
- Tri voltage configuration (1500V DC, 15 kV 16 2/3Hz and 25 kV 50Hz alternation) authorized in France and Switzerland;
- 200 km/h dual voltage configuration (1500V DC and 25kV AC);
- High-capacity configuration offering a diagram maximizing passenger transport for a suburban commercial operation;
- Ability to modular interior layouts (diagram changes and personalization of the visual identity);
- On-board battery system to maintain the air conditioning and ventilation function in degraded mode in the event of a catenary power failure;
- Implementation by the manufacturer of "communicating train" devices operated by SNCF Voyageurs;
- Implementation of the Automatic Train Operation (ATO) Level GOA2 (Grade of Automation) system.
The framework agreement provides for a maximum order volume of 150 self-propelled vehicles.
