The procurement will cover the Norwegian Armed Forces and allied nations' need for maritime transport by RORO Liner ships of wheeled/tracked cargo, break bulk and container goods.

RORO ships means vessels where the loading and unloading is done by the load either being driven onboard itself or pulled by a separate trailer. RORO is a term for Roll On-Roll Off. Liner shipping means that the ships follow a scheduled route between different ports.

The entire transport route must go via seagoing vessels from quay to quay. The Contracting Authority will undertake transport to/from quays itself. The need is mainly along the Norwegian coast, but there can also be dispatches to Europe.

This is a framework agreement with one tenderer for four years, with an option to extend for a further three years. The maximum duration of the framework agreement will be seven years in total.

The estimated contract value is NOK 80 million excluding VAT, and the maximum value is NOK 100 million excluding VAT, including options.
