The institutions need to update the range of furniture in order to meet new space requirements, be in line with changes in technology and working methods, follow developments related to occupational well-being and provide a suitable working environment for their staff. The European Parliament, via a formal consultation, asked the other institutions and bodies on the Brussels and Strasbourg sites whether they intended to participate. The European Court of Auditors, the Court of Justice of the European Union, the European Committee of the Regions, the European Economic and Social Committee, the European Data Protection Supervisor and the Translation Centre for the Bodies of the European Union responded positively.
