PRJ965 — Systematic Review Services — NEL

Procurement for the provision of systematic reviews of healthcare interventions to support decision-making on commissioning policies that may direct resources for treatment according to thresholds or clinical criteria.

The purpose of the contract is to provide ten systematic reviews of healthcare evidence per year, with meta-analysis of pooled effect size where appropriate. Each review supports decision-making on a clinical commissioning policy for an area in England, and may incorporate findings on safety, effectiveness, cost-effectiveness or the impact on quality of life of a defined health condition. For example, based on evidence from a systematic review, the Authority defined a commissioning policy that biological mesh for hernia repair would be funded based on specific types of hernia and specific risk factors. This policy was adopted by healthcare commissioners.

The length of the contract is 2 years with the option of an extension for a third year at the sole discretion of the authority.

The maximum value of the contract is GBP 67 333.33 per year, or GBP 201 999.99 over 3 years.

The start date of the contract is 1 April 2021.

Any expenditure, work or effort undertaken prior to contract award is accordingly a matter solely for the commercial judgment of potential service providers. In such circumstances, and in any event, NEL shall not be liable for any costs or loss of expenses whatsoever incurred by the respondent and company, agent, subsidiary or organisation may have contributed to any response submitted to this notice.
