As a central institute at Nobelstrasse 12, 70569 Stuttgart, the Fraunhofer Institute IZS in Stuttgart also looks after 4 other institutes of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft located on the campus of the Fraunhofer Institute Center Stuttgart (IZS) in addition to its own institute building. The existing buildings are usually special buildings and are used as research facilities, laboratory buildings and office buildings. The buildings are of different ages. New buildings, extensions, conversions and modernization measures are constantly required on the buildings as part of the alignment to new research goals. The majority of the so-called small building measures, which are subject to the right of use and which must not exceed the upper cost limit (currently EUR 1.0 million), will be carried out in the existing building and in the company.

For the planning and implementation of small building measures in the Stuttgart region, a competent, experienced architectural office is needed, which is familiar with building in existing buildings and experienced in dealing with high-tech buildings with clean rooms, laboratories, test laboratories, test benches and measuring and test rooms.
