The client intends to implement high-performance broadband connections with next-generation networks for parts of the communities and their districts of Rügen. These are the following municipalities: Altefähr, Rambin, Samtens, Dreschvitz, Gingst and Parchtitz. The purpose of the procurement is to provide the active components required for operation and to subsequently commission the network, including the provision of the necessary services.

The Principal prescribes the lease and operation of a passive broadband network yet to be built including the provision of services in the area of the municipalities / districts specified under point II.1.4). To this end, the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure has participated in the subsidy program of 22 October 2015 entitled "Support in Support of Broadband Expansion in the Federal Republic of Germany" for the operator model mentioned in 3.2. The contract will be awarded in accordance with the guidelines of the European Union for the application of the state aid rules in the context of rapid broadband deployment (2013 / C 25/01) or the applicable national regulations.
