Project management of the school renovation
In its current form, the Volksgarten Comprehensive School no longer satisfies the structural requirements placed on teaching institutions.
In order to take account of the changed framework conditions, especially with regard to safety requirements, various parts of the building are being renovated. The fire protection renovation is in the foreground here, followed by the renovation of damaged building fabric, energy efficiency improvement and improvement of the room structure.
The school consists of a total of 10 building sections (one-, two- and three-storey, mostly with basements) with partly structural connections. The school buildings including administration, toilet facilities, gymnasium, former caretaker's apartment and the recreation hall were built between 1955 and 1959. In 1960 an auditorium was added. In 1973 and 1991, the complex was expanded to include a school pavilion and a canteen.
Further information on the current condition of the properties and the necessary measures can be found in Appendix 06.
