LLAKES have obtained ESRC funding to extend the Citizenship Education Longitudinal Study (CELS) to include a further survey wave. This will be the sixth wave of CELS, and is part of a wider project entitled The Crisis for Contemporary Youth: Young People, Opportunities and Civic Values in the UK.

The longitudinal CELS survey of young people was first conducted in England in 2003, when respondents were in Year 7 and could be recruited and contacted via schools. This cohort have since then been surveyed every two years (i.e. in 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2011). LLAKES are now seeking to appoint a survey organisation to continue surveying the cohort now that they have left education and are in their early twenties.
