Repository for radioactive waste Morsleben (ERAM) - Expert in nuclear supervision according to § 20 AtG: Assessment of issues related to the operation, operational safety, radiation and fire protection of the ERAM, including release procedures according to § 31 StrlSchV.

1) Subject of the award

The Federal Republic of Germany operates the Morsleben repository for radioactive waste (ERAM). The operation of the ERAM is based on the approval for permanent operation of the ERAM (DBG), which was granted in 1986 by the State Office for Nuclear Safety in the GDR. The operator is the Federal Agency for Final Storage (BGE) based in Peine. The responsible nuclear regulatory authority for the ERAM is the Federal Office for Nuclear Waste Management (BfE).

The tasks of the nuclear supervision (BfE) include the monitoring of the repository for radioactive waste in Morsleben and thus compliance with the nuclear and radiation protection requirements, including the measures for the necessary protection against interference and other third party effects for the repository for radioactive waste in Morsleben ,

The contractor or persons employed by him act as experts in accordance with § 20 AtG. The expert advises the nuclear regulatory authority on technical issues relating to operation, operational safety, radiation and fire protection.

There is essentially a need for:

- the examination of radiation protection-related questions in procedures for issuing mining law operating plans,

In individual cases, the service includes the professional review of documents and data that are submitted to the supervisory authority. The documents and data are to be checked for their conclusiveness, traceability and technical correctness. The results of the tests should be presented in an expert report. The respective form of the report (test report, statement, protocol, etc.) is coordinated with the client.

The client reserves the right to call in the experts to assist with any questions that require clarification on site. In particular, to carry out accompanying controls, inspections, participation in inspections and periodic inspections, it is necessary to drive through the repository for radioactive waste in Morsleben.

2) Open procedure

The award procedure is carried out in an open procedure (§15 VgV).

When submitting a bid, the bidder must submit a concept for project organization.
