Norway shall participate in the international comparative studies TALIS — (Teaching and Learning International Survey) and Staff Survey in Early Education Childhood and Care (ECEC) in 2018. TALIS is the largest international questionaire on teachers'work terms and teaching practice and Norway has participated in the two previous rounds of the study (2008 and 2013). ECEC Staff Survey is a new international study aimed at the personnel and management in nurseries. Both studies are carried out under the direction of OECD.
The Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training is the representative in the studies' ‘Board of Participating Countries’ (BPC). BPC is the top management body for the studies and is, amongst other things, responsible for defining the general targets, prioritising what indicators shall be included and quality assuring the report draft. The responsibility also involves employing a ‘National Project Manager’ NPM.
The Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training hereby announces the role of NPM for TALIS and for the new nursery study. NPM is responsible for the local organisation, implementation, analysis of the data and Norwegian reporting of the results, as well as for contact with the international project management. Tenderers can apply for the assignment of NPM for one or both of the studies. There must be good cooperation between the two studies if the assignment is divided.
