The aim of the award is the conclusion of a temporary service contract for support services ("implementation partner": in" - preparation, accompaniment, coordination and implementation of a pilot project for IP transfer from universities and research institutions) in the project "IP-Transfer" 3.0 of SPRIND GmbH.
The Federal Agency for Leap Innovations - SPRIND GmbH has the goal of creating leap innovations from Germany. Breakthrough innovations are products, services and systems that make our lives noticeably and sustainably better. To this end, SPRIND combines new thinkers from science and business, people with outstanding ideas, special expertise and passion. SPRIND ensures an entrepreneurial environment that makes ideas come true.
In April 2022, SPRIND published a position paper for a simpler, faster and legally compliant IP transfer from universities and research institutions. In addition to the model, this paper also proposed the implementation of a pilot project to test the model with a group of institutions from the higher education and research sectors. The aim is to test the model for virtual participation with simultaneous IP transmission in spin-offs over a period of three years with the participating institutions in their own start-up context. In this context, simplified methods for IP valuation are also to be developed and a collection of IP transmission conditions ("deal database") is to be created.
In this context, SPRIND intends to commission an implementation partner for the duration of the pilot project (until 31.08.2026) to take over all services necessary for the preparation, implementation, monitoring and final documentation of the pilot project.
This concerns the 1) call for tenders and organisation of the selection of suitable participating institutions from the higher education and research sector, the 2) the development of a common objective and road map for the duration of the pilot (including follow-up) with SPRIND and the participating institutions, the 3) the implementation of regular network meetings (physical and virtual) for the exchange of experience and the discussion of the progress made, the 4) conception and implementation of Outreach and accompanying communication measures in consultation with the SPRIND, the 5) research and approach of suitable experts, the 6) research, coordination and the establishment and operation of an IP marketplace and a deal database, the 7) creation of accompanying documentation and reports including layout, design and translation into English and the 8) evaluation as well as the accompanying monitoring of the pilot project.
