Perform emission measurements on 20 gas engines for calibration (QAL2) and functional testing (AST) followed by reporting for submission to the competent approval authority.
Calibration (QAL2) in 2023 or functional test (AST) in 2024/2025 for the exhaust gas components CO, NOx, HCHO, NH3 and CH4 of the continuous measurements.
Possible additional calibrations for the above-mentioned exhaust components in case of violation of the calibration range (class S10).
Discontinuous measurements for HCHO, CH4 and dust in 2023, for HCHO and CH4 in 2024/2025.
Annual function check O2, H2O, volume flow, temperature and pressure.
Function control and, if necessary, parameter adjustment in the emission evaluation calculator.
Stadtwerke Kiel AG (SWK) operates various heating and power plants for the district heating supply of its customers. In the coastal power plant, 20 J920 gas engines from Jenbacher are operated. As a result, the coastal power plant falls under the scope of the 13th Federal Immission Control Ordinance (13th BImSchV). According to the 13th BImSchV, SWK are obliged to continuously record the exhaust gas components CO, NOx, HCHO, NH3. These emission measurements must be checked regularly by a measuring body approved in accordance with §29b of the Federal Immission Control Act. These checks are called calibration (QAL2) or functional testing (AST). In addition, according to the 13th BImSchV, the exhaust gas components HCHO, CH4 and dust must be determined discontinuously annually or every three years.
The results of the measurements shall be documented in a report. The reporting form shall comply with the requirements for submission to the competent approval authority.
The correction curves determined on the basis of the emission measurements shall be transferred to the emission evaluation calculators (2 units).
Due to the operational characteristics of the coastal power plant and the measurements carried out in previous years, there are two time windows from mid-April to the end of May and mid-October to the end of November. During each of these periods, 10 gas engines shall be measured.
