The Hanseatic Museum was established in 1872 and therefore has a long and proud tradition as a museum and conservatory. The museum has typically served as an "artefact museum" with objects collected from Bryggen and other locations in Bergen.
In connection with the extensive restoration of Finnegården, new exhibitions will be established that fulfil the requirements and expectations of a modern, engaging and inspiring museum of Hanseatic history, which spanned a period of 500 years in Bergen. In order to understand the Hanseatic period, it is important that it be viewed in an international and national context.
Relevant exhibitions will be established based on new knowledge. The project has allocated funds to investigate new perspectives and themes that can also be linked to today's society.
Bergen municipality, the Agency for Development, hereby invites tenderers to a tender contest for a contract for exhibition project K0241 The Hanseatic Museum.
