SURFnet intends to acquire two global Internet connections from two Different Contractors. Each Contractor must deliver a 10 Gigabit Ethernet connection at two separate locations in Amsterdam (Vancis (formerly known als Vancis) and Telecity2), the Netherlands. Tenderers must offer a flexible Committed Data Rate (CDR) that SURFnet can adjust during the contract period. IPv6 has become steadily more important in Internet networks. SURFnet already offers IPv6 to customers as a production service since 2001. SURFnet therefore requires both IPv4 and IPv6 to be supported on the global Internet connections.
