The subject of the contract to be awarded is general contractor services for the new building (without control center technology) of the main fire and rescue station 1, including a volunteer fire brigade in the city of Herne.
The city of Herne intends to build a new building for the main fire and rescue station 1, including a volunteer fire brigade in its urban area (Herne-Sodingen). The service is to be carried out by two general contractors. It will be divided into two lots. A distinction is made between construction lots 1 (new construction) and 2 (control center). Initially, the present call for tenders relates exclusively to construction lot 1. Lot 2 will be put out to tender throughout the EU at a later date. The operation of the control centre is ensured within the framework of inter-municipal cooperation between the fire brigade and another municipality. For the provision of services, it is essential that the interfaces between the two lots must be coordinated, precisely planned and executed.

The functionally arranged building complex will consist of 4 connected components: fire station north of the volunteer fire brigade, main fire station of the professional fire brigade, rescue station with disinfection unit and a workshop logistics service building with petrol station as well as the training tower.

It is intended to have the essential construction work as well as planning services from LPH 5 onwards provided by the general contractor tendered here.

The project must be carried out according to a suitable BIM standard. The plan is to develop a client information request (AEOI) and a BIM execution plan between the client and the planners involved in order to arrive at a BIM standard tailored to the project.

The award procedure is expected to end in February 2024. Construction is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2024. The execution period is expected to be 3.5 years. Completion is scheduled for 2026. Commissioning by the client is scheduled for early 2027.
