Refurbishment of the Donauwörth outdoor swimming pool: underground district heating and drinking water pipes outside the building

The existing filter of the springer pool is to be reused, the remaining water treatment of the springer and non-swimmer area will be completely renewed. In the course of the renovation, the existing chlorine gas room, which also supplies the swimmer pool, will be relocated and equipped accordingly.

In the future, the pool water will be heated via a district heating network that Stadtwerke Donauwörth will rebuild during the construction phase. The handover point will be the entrance building, which will also be renovated during the construction phase. A district heating transfer station will be set up in the boiler room of the entrance area, and the existing solar system will continue to be used.

From the entrance building, a main route consisting of drinking water, electrical cables and 2 heating networks leads past the diving pool to the non-swimmer pool. At the planned pavilion there will be a branch to this. The pavilion acts as a lifeguard, toilet house and access to the slides.

Most of the water treatment will be in the technical room of the non-swimmer pool. From here, all newly built pools, children's play areas and also the slides are supplied with the various media. There will also be a gray water tank for watering the site.

The water in the pools is led into a surge tank via splash water channels, from where it enters the filter and is later pumped as pure water back into the pools and to the slides. The pure water is heated in the technical rooms via 2 heat exchangers (district heating + solar system / heat recovery).

The pavilion and the technical rooms are to be kept frost-free, and are provided with radiators that are fed via the solar system / heat recovery.
