The Council is establishing a framework for the provision of Tree Works (Arboricultural Services), including hedge pruning, stump removal and re-instatement. It also includes the provision of emergency tree works to address situations where for example a tree is at risk of failing or a tree is blocking a road etc. In the event of emergency tree works being required, Contractors must be able to attend site within one (1) hour of receiving notification from the Council.
In order to be considered for this Contract, Suppliers must be, for the lifetime of this Contract, an approved Arboricultural Association Contractor.
The scope of contract includes Crown Lifting, Crown Reduction, Felling, Hedge Pruning, Miscellaneous, Pollarding, Coppicing, Removing dead wood, Removing stumps and Emergency works.
Annual indicative volumes are provided below (these are not guaranteed):
Crown Lifting - 1500 trees
Crown Reduction - 160 trees
Felling - 60 trees
Hedge Pruning - 4700 metres
Miscellaneous (typically includes pruning back branches from buildings/paths, severing ivy, removing epicormic growth and clearing fallen branches) - 1500 trees
Pollarding - 40 trees
Removing dead wood - 200 trees
Removing stumps - 50 trees
Emergency works - 10 incidents
