During the end of 2023, beginning of 2024, SMHI will move the office to newly built premises in the same area in Gothenburg, Nya Varvet, where the current office is located.
The new office consists of three floors, where the ground floor consists of a workshop section and a part for laboratory operations. The other two floors consist of office space.

Cable channels and cable trays on the floors as well as cable shafts must be available and dimensioned based on SMHI's room function program. However, in some places it may still need to be supplemented with extra cable trays. Since the ceiling is probably already in place, removal and reassembly of ceiling tiles will need to be done in connection with the installation.
In terms of computer networks, two so-called cross-connection rooms are located in the middle of the building on floors 2 and 3. From there, cabling out to office rooms and workspaces will be pulled. From floor 1, the cabling is routed to the cross-connection room on floor 2. In the workshop area level 1, a local patch coupling in the stand will also be mounted. This will be used to connect equipment between different workspaces within the workshop.
As for the antene network, the installation will mainly apply to the workshop area where a local patch connection with stand is required. This will be used to connect equipment between different workspaces within the workshop and its adjacent surfaces, as well as to connect to antenna equipment on the roof. A number of antenna cables are routed from the workshop area up to the patch box in the attic space, in order to then be able to connect antennas on the roof via grommet.
As for fiber, a fiber patch for singlemode fiber, 16 pairs with SC connector and 16 shielded TP cables will be installed between the two cross-connection rooms.
