Development & ManagementThis plot includes developing and managing the infrastructure and application landscape. The specialists in the field of technical and functional application management manage the application landscape. The activities include advising and training users on existing and newly purchased applications, maintaining contacts with the supplier. Installing new software releases, updates and patches. Technical application management of Linux and Microsoft and database management of Oracle, MS-SQL, MySQL and PostgreSQL.

Information managementTeam Information Management supports the departments in their digital information management and contributes to the realization of the digital ambitions of the municipality of Haarlem. The team does this by – in collaboration with those involved – managing and improving the information management. The team includes data managers, functional managers of the central DMS/case system, user support staff and advisors. An important role of the data controller is to monitor the correct use of the information systems in use and to carry out checks on the registrations of departments. In addition, the team also performs more traditional (digital) archival tasks, such as destroying and transferring information to the e-depot of the Noord-Hollands Archief. The position of Head of Information Management is also invested in the team (policy, internal supervision and substantive development).
The municipality is working towards getting and keeping its information management 'in control' on the basis of the quality system used (VNG/KIDO). In order to improve information management, the municipality organizes - as much as possible - all aspects of information management in the design of work processes and the purchase of applications.
