The municipality of Petersberg intends to award the planning services of engineering structures for the construction of a sheet pile wall system with a barrier for flood protection in Brachwitzer Strasse in the Sennewitz district. The project area is located on Brachwitzer Strasse in the district of Sennewitz, directly above the Götsche estuary into the Saale. The Götsche flows through the Saale Altarm, which is bordered in a northern direction by Brachwitzer Strasse. A road bridge crosses the Götsche towards the port of Halle-Trotha. As a result of a feasibility study in coordination between the municipality of Petersberg and the city of Halle (Saale), the realization of a suitable flood protection system with a connection to the existing flood protection dike of the Tafelwerder sewage pump plant (formerly sewage treatment plant) has been established. The possible course has a total length of approximately 700 m. As a special construction, a barrier structure in the area of the Götsche-Bridge is to be planned. In order to secure the flood for the Götsche, the necessary lifting and transfer measures must be taken into account in the event of a flood. The flood protection system is to be arranged on the water side of Brachwitzer Straße in order to enable access to the commercial and residential area even in the event of flooding and to be able to use the road for flood defense.
