At the St. Elisabeth Union Hospital in Bernkastel-Wittlich, the existing maternity unit on the 3rd floor is scheduled for vacancy in the former internist function. This area is particularly suitable for use as a new maternity unit, as proximity and convenient access to the areas of the premature and infant ward as well as the gynaecological clinic can be maintained and the previous maternity unit can continue to operate during the conversion phase.
Total costs (Kgr. 200-600, DIN 276) are currently assumed to be around €2.1 million gross (as of 2019).
The following milestones are planned:
Start of service: mid/end of January 2022,
Completion: quarter I 2024.

Project planning for buildings and interiors, service phases 1 to 9 according to §§ 33 ff. HOAI.

This area is particularly suitable for use as a new maternity unit, as proximity and convenient access to the areas of the premature and infant ward as well as the gynaecological clinic can be maintained and the previous maternity unit can continue to operate during the conversion phase.
According to the approved feasibility study (as of 2017), the planned measure, with usable space of around 369 m², was to be implemented while the hospital was in operation. After submitting the HU-Bau at the end of 2018, the ministry suggested planning a larger area. The laboratory space is also to be relocated. The area to be converted is already vacant.

For the measure, the services of object planning are to be awarded to buildings and interiors in accordance with §§ 33 et seq. HOAI.
The services are commissioned in stages. First of all, the performance phases 1 and 2 (baseline assessment and preliminary planning) are commissioned in accordance with Section 34 of the Court of Procedure 1. The service phases 3 to 9 are called up in the further stages of the assignment. There is no legal entitlement to an overall assignment.
