The medical department of the European Commission in Luxembourg is responsible for preventive and occupational health care (Article 59.6 of the staff regulations of officials of the European Union and the conditions of employment of other servants of the European Union) in respect of staff at the European Commission in Luxembourg.

In order to perform certain medical activities, the medical department calls on the services of doctors specialised in ophthalmology and psychiatry, as well as psychological counselling service providers.
