Works for complete or part construction and civil engineering work. The Council now wishes to appoint a suitably qualified contractor for the scheme to upgrade the coastal defence which protects the frontage at Littlehaven Beach, South Shields and runs between the South Groyne and the South Pier of the river Tyne.

The construction works include the demolition of part of the existing sea wall, construction of a newly aligned concrete stepped wall (in situ), refurbishment of existing southern wall, associated promenade works, car park construction; all earthworks, hard and soft landscaping, and drainage.
