North of England Commissioning Support (NECS) is managing this procurement process for and on behalf of NHS England — North (Cumbria and the North East) seeking to procure GP Services at HMP Haverigg.

The aims of the service are to provide a high quality GP service that is preventatively focused and meets the needs of prisoners within HMP Haverigg.

There is potentially a possibility that there will be changes to the prisons estate in the future, and we would work with the healthcare providers to manage any changes.

The GP service will:

— Provide a primary care general medical service (excluding out of hours) that meets the needs of patients;

— Provide services that are equitable with community provision, including access;

— Provide services which meet the establishment's specific requirements for primary care medical input.
