Construction project to be monitored: The Chemnitzer Bahnbogen construction site is located in the area of route 6258 Dresden – Bogendreieck Werdau and in the area of route 6645 Chemnitz Hbf – Aue. The section Chemnitz Hbf (a) - Chemnitz-Kappel (a) of route 6258 is a double-track, electrified section without switches.
The Chemnitz Hbf (a) – Chemnitz- Süd (a) section of line 6645 is a single-track, non-electrified section. At about km 81.80 of route 6258 is the Hp Chemnitz Süd and at about km 82.70 the Hp Chemnitz Mitte. The object of the Chemnitz Railway Arch project is the upgrading and upgrading of the railway section from Chemnitz Hauptbahnhof (km 80.5 of line 6258) to the west of Chemnitz Mitte station (km 83.3 of line 6258). The length of the complete reconstruction section is approx. 2,800 m. In the 1st construction phase from 2019 to 2022, a large part of the railway facilities has already been renewed. The main component of the 2nd construction phase is the upgrading of the approx. 280m long railway overpass Chemnitz Viaduct. Likewise, in the period from 04/2023 to 05/2024, various remaining services will be realized or implemented along the entire Chemnitz railway arch. Public roads lead to the construction sites or the railway arch is crossed and touched by public roads. The construction sites of the conversion project are located in the central area of the city of Chemnitz. The service is mainly provided on the premises of DB AG. Adjacent to the areas are residential areas, allotment areas and commercial plots.
