Description:
Framework contract for the production of special parachute systems for sounding rockets according to drawing / specification of DLR MORABA

The Mobile Rocket Base (MORABA) is a department of the German Aerospace Center (DLR e.V.) and belongs to the Institute of Space Operations and Astronaut Training based in Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich. Since the 1960s, MORABA has been conducting scientific sounding missions with unmanned rockets and balloons and developing the necessary mechanical and electrical flight and ground systems. Their fields of application include high-atmosphere research, microgravity research, astronomy, geophysics, materials science, and hypersonic research.

For the required safe payload return, MORABA has specially developed parachute systems at its disposal, which represent an essential part of the salvage systems for the land and water recovery of scientific payloads. They have to withstand extreme conditions as well as loads (high shock loads, thermal loads, harsh conditions of the Arctic Ocean and the tundra) and are therefore subject to high demands on quality and function. We are looking for a manufacturer of special parachute systems for sounding rockets according to the drawing and specifications of DLR MORABA.
